Alpine Drive (west of Hamilton) and Primrose Lane are two of the corridors selected for the Town of Erie's first Neighborhood Speed Management Program projects. Thank you to everyone who participated in the first round of voting.

The program includes several steps: data collection, a neighborhood meeting, and a review of traffic calming measures. Those steps are complete, and community input has narrowed the field to two remaining options. The Town is now seeking a final round of input from residents in the smaller area of Vista Ridge affected by the improvements.

The survey will be open until August 21, 2026. Your input will be one of several factors used to determine the final solution for this corridor. Following the close of voting, the Town will move into design of traffic calming measures in September 2026, with installation planned for October 2026.

Both options use traffic calming measures to slow speeds and manage traffic on the roadways involved.

Option 1 places speed cushions roughly 400 feet apart to keep traffic speeds low.

Option 2 uses fewer speed cushions and adds traffic diverters to reduce speeds and cut-through traffic. This option prevents access onto westbound Alpine Drive from Hamilton while maintaining eastbound access. It also prevents left turns at the Mountain View Drive and Primrose Lane intersection, making it a right-in, right-out movement for Primrose Lane traffic.

NOTE: Option 2 includes a Right In / Right Out design at Primrose Lane and Mountain View Blvd, preventing left turns in both directions at that intersection. When traveling southbound on Primrose Lane, no left turn is permitted to eastbound Mountain View Blvd. No left turn is permitted from eastbound Mountain View Blvd to northbound Primrose Lane.

Option 2 also restricts access to westbound Alpine Drive from the Hamilton/CR 4/CR 5 intersections, with no right turn permitted from Hamilton (CR 5) to westbound Alpine Drive.
