The Town of Erie is planning safety and accessibility improvements for people walking and biking across Arapahoe Road at South Boulder Canyon Ditch, connecting Erie and Lafayette. Right now, trail users cross at an informal spot with no crosswalk, signal, or other formal infrastructure.

Working with the City of Lafayette, CDOT, and RTD, the project will look at where a new crossing could go, how it should work, and how to improve nearby RTD bus stops, including ADA-accessible boarding areas. We’re early in the design process, which is the best time for your input. Tell us how you use the crossing today and what would make it feel safer. Construction is anticipated in fall 2027, pending design approval and funding.
